About the Role

This Apprentice position is a developmental opportunity designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in this role or our industry. The role provides hands-on training and mentorship to build foundational skills, with the goal of preparing the apprentice for certification and long-term success in the field.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy diesel equipment and mobile machinery

  • Learn to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues under the guidance of experienced mechanics

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety

  • Safely utilize tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop systems in compliance with company procedures

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to a safe, organized work area

What Are We Looking For

  • Demonstrated interest in heavy diesel mechanics, equipment maintenance, or a related skilled trade

  • Ability to learn technical concepts and apply problem‑solving skills in a hands‑on environment

  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and following established procedures

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others

  • Capability to perform physical work, including lifting and working around heavy equipment

  • Willingness and ability to learn technical procedures and pursue certification

Conditions of Employment

Work Environment

  • Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
