THE OPPORTUNITY 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance Business Solutions, the Senior Manager, Finance Platform Solutions is responsible for maximizing the value and use of existing BCI technologies and AI solutions to transform finance processes and workflows across the department. The result is better service to internal clients, business partners and ultimately, our external clients. This role bridges finance expertise and finance technologies. Working in partnership with the Technology department, the Senior Manager leads finance systems projects such as extending existing systems with new capabilities, applying multi-agent AI solutions within or to supplement existing platforms, integrating various finance applications and tools to reduce re-work and manual transfers, and deploying low-no code automation tools.  

The Senior Manager directly leads the Manager, Workday Finance Solutions and collaborates closely with the Finance leadership team and the Technology team to ensure Finance’s processes and systems align with BCI’s strategic plan and operational objectives. 

FINANCE BUSINESS SOLUTIONS

Finance Business Solutions supports all Finance functions to effectively execute BCI’s strategy. The branch creates value for our clients by promoting efficient use of current and emerging finance technologies, facilitating innovation and AI adoption, optimizing processes to create capacity and reduce risk, and coordinating key initiatives and people programs.  

FINANCE DEPARTMENT

The Finance department is part of BCI Operations and is responsible for investment and corporate accounting, valuations, as well as financial statements and financial reporting to our clients. The team also leads BCI’s budgeting process, tax structuring and tax compliance, finance client engagement, finance operations, procurement, and investment performance and analytics. 

 

WHAT YOU BRING

Must have 

  • University/college degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Information Systems 

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and /or PMP designation is preferred 

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience bridging finance operations and technology (e.g. Finance Systems, Finance Technology, Finance Transformation, or Finance Business Solutions) through projects of various sizes and scale 

  • Experience working with investment management platforms (such as SimCorp) and working for management consultancies with specialization in the Finance function is an asset 

  • Demonstrated track record of leading end-to-end implementation of Finance technology solutions (ERP, EPM, analytics, or automation platforms) with measurable business outcomes; Workday Financials experience strongly preferred 

  • Familiarity with enterprise planning and analytics (EPM) tools – Workday Adaptive Planning or comparable platforms – and how they connect budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A to the corporate system of record 

  • Experience in identifying and or implementing use cases for AI and automation – including agentic AI – to finance processes is a strong asset (e.g., RPA, API-based integrations, ETL tools, Power Platform, or equivalent) 

  • Understanding of Finance processes across the Record-to-Report, Source-to-Pay, Plan-to-Actual and the technologies (including AI tools) that support them 

  • Experience in asset management, institutional investment, pension, or regulated financial services and related systems is an asset 

  • A strong client service mindset and consultative approach with the ability to build business relationships and articulate client needs 

  • Critical thinker, passionate about continuous improvement and driving change with enabling technologies 

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Finance Technology Strategy & Governance 

  • Conducts ongoing assessments of the Finance technology landscape – including the future of ERP, advance utilization of EPM, analytics, and automation platforms, and understand BCI’s suite of technologies and tools, to identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for modernization and optimization 

  • Supports the Senior Director to develop a Finance Technology Roadmap to incorporate existing and emerging technologies to maximize business value 

  • Represents Finance at various technology operational committees and working groups to ensure enterprise governance and best practices are adopted within Finance  

Technology-Enabled Finance Solutions 

  • Partners with the Senior Director to experiment with agentic and emerging AI capabilities, then partner with Technology to operationalize and embed proven solutions – including robotic process automation and intelligent data platforms – into Finance processes, with a clear lens on balancing business value, risk, and cost 

  • Assesses, designs and oversees initiatives to reduce the number of non-integrated financial systems, manually maintained data sets, and offline calculations to reduce manual processes and handoffs, workarounds, and duplicated processing between our corporate and investment accounting processes   

  • Drives measurable value realization from BCI’s existing Finance platforms (Workday, SimCorp), advancing the maturity and adoption of ERP and EPM capabilities already in place 

  • Champions automation and self-service capabilities within Finance, driving adoption of tools that empower finance professionals to extract insights and execute workflows without heavy reliance on Technology 

  • Facilitates discussions and develops a reporting strategy on investment, corporate and management reporting with Finance stakeholders and Technology partners (Workday platform and Data & Analytics) leveraging technology platforms and tools 

Stakeholder and Change Management, Adoption, and Business Partnership 

  • Serves as Finance’s day-to-day relationship lead with Technology counterparts (Service Delivery and Data & Analytics), partnering at the Senior Manager level to align Finance business requirements with Technology delivery 

  • Designs and leads change management plans for Finance technology initiatives, ensuring end users across Finance and other impacted department users are engaged, trained, and supported through transitions 

  • Fosters a culture of digital confidence within Finance by building finance professionals’ fluency with new tools and promoting a continuous improvement mindset 

  • Collaborates with teams within Finance, providing project management support during the implementation of system solutions 

  • Champions the responsible adoption of AI and automation in Finance – balancing speed of experimentation with sound judgment on data integrity and trust  

WHERE YOU WILL WORK   

This role will be based in our office in downtown Victoria, BC.  

 

SALARY RANGE   

The annualized base salary range for this Victoria-based role is CAD $135,000 - $160,000. 

BCI offers a competitive total rewards package, including a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan, and paid time off. We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we operate and with consideration for internal equity and job structure. The base salary will consider factors such as the individual's skill set, experience, and internal equity. We aim for actual pay to be around the market median for expected performance and the upper quartile for excellent performance. Actual salaries may vary based on experience and expertise.
