A Day in the Life
This role focuses on delivering high‑quality mobile applications through strong expertise in both manual and automation testing across iOS and Android platforms. The engineer collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams, participates in Agile ceremonies, designs and executes test cases, and develops automated test scripts using industry‑standard tools and frameworks. The role also involves ensuring compliance with medical device software standards through effective verification and validation activities while contributing to reliable, scalable, and compliant mobile solutions.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Plan, design, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests for mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
- Develop, implement, and maintain automation test scripts using industry‑standard tools and frameworks.
- Design and manage test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure high quality, performance, and reliability of mobile applications.
- Perform software verification and validation (V&V) activities to ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and user requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and cross‑functional teams to gather, analyze, and document software requirements.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and support timely delivery of high‑quality software releases.
- Track and manage defects using bug‑tracking and test management tools.
- Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation, including test plans, requirement specifications, and traceability matrices.
- Support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to improve test coverage and efficiency.
Required knowledge and experience :
- 8+ years of experience in mobile application testing with a strong focus on test automation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (Computer Science, Biotechnology, Biomedical, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering).
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology (Computer Science, Biotechnology, Biomedical, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering).
- Proven hands‑on experience with mobile automation frameworks such as Appium, Espresso, XCTest, or similar tools.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C#.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), business analysis, and requirements management.
- Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitLab.
- Proficiency in using test management and defect‑tracking tools, such as JIRA.
Nice to have: - Experience using Katalon for test automation.
- Exposure to regulated environments with an understanding of compliance‑driven V&V processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working independently and in fast‑paced team environments.
