Manager of IT Engineering – Enterprise Business Technology (EBT) Team

The Enterprise Business Technology team is responsible for delivering and supporting global solutions across Human Capital Management (HCM), Corporate Financial Systems, Site Solutions and Compliance, and Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability. We advance TJX’s strategic and operational objectives by implementing and managing a portfolio of SaaS platforms, commercial off‑the‑shelf applications, and custom-built solutions that provide critical capabilities for our business. Our partners across the organization rely on these systems to achieve business goals, maintain operational excellence, and meet regulatory and compliance requirements.

Our team consists of over 100 Associates located across the globe, with plans to increase it now through expansion in our India office. Expanding TJX's presence in India will bring knowledge and expertise, local leadership and decision making, enabling us to deliver the right work, at the right time, in the right way.

As the Manager of IT Engineering, you will help establish and lead a new India‑based team, focused on quality engineering, SaaS application configuration/development, integration, and overall quality assurance maturity. You’ll work closely with your global counterparts and agile ARTs across HCM, Finance, Site Solutions and Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability domains. You will oversee people leadership, technical delivery, operational excellence, talent strategy, and cross‑functional alignment across multiple domains, ensuring high performance and strong global partnership. 

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, develop, and coach a high-performing, multi-skilled team of engineers and quality assurance professionals  
  • Bring strong leadership skills to motivate, inspire, and build a high-performing team
  • Provide strategic quality engineering leadership and ensure adherence to engineering standards and guidelines.
  • Lead the implementation of test automation and overall quality assurance maturity across a diverse set of corporate domains.
  • Own workforce planning, hiring strategy, vendor partnerships, and budget allocation.
  • Deliver clear, executive‑ready updates on risks, progress, staffing, and operational health.
  • Build strong relationships with global peers and stakeholders
  • Provide hands‑on technical oversight of designs, architectures, AI use cases and CI/CD pipelines.   
  • Drive performance management, including coaching, goal setting, and holding team members accountable for commitments.
  • Provide recommendations clearly grounded in measurable outcomes and data.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Apply a strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Champion agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of test automation deliverables
  • Foster a high-engagement culture rooted in ownership, inclusion, continuous improvement, and strong engineering discipline.
  • Mentor and develop team members in alignment with TJX values.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Overall experience required 16 – 22 years
  • 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years leading teams as a manager.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering-based solution delivery teams.
  • Experience leading implementation of test automation function, including TOSCA.
  • Demonstrated experience directly managing large teams, including talent development, driving delivery, and issue resolution.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical partners.
  • Experience lead teams delivering off-the-shelf and SaaS solutions for at least one of the following areas: Finance, HCM, ServiceNow
  • Experience managing cross‑geo delivery teams and working with U.S.‑based product/architecture partners.
  • Experience leading efforts to deliver value and efficiency through AI adoption.
  • Strong Experience with agile delivery model
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Proven experience recruiting and onboarding associates 

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Financial applications (IBM Planning Analytics, Oracle EBS, OneStream XF, EPM), Workday HCM, ServiceNow  
  • Experience with Java, Oracle DB, REST APIs, and cloud platforms (e.g. OCI, AWS, Azure)
  • Application integration (REST, SOAP, Apigee, Boomi, etc.) experience
  • Exposure to diverse portfolio of applications
  • Experience with estimation, and budgeting
  • Experience with VS Code, MCP and Agentic patterns
