GE Aviation is the leading manufacturer of jet engines for civil and military aviation in the world producing 37 types of engines that power 91 types of aircrafts. In addition, the company produces engine derivatives for propulsion of ships and power plants, and renders services (through GE Engine Services) in the field of repair and maintenance of aircraft engines.We are looking for Production Manager, working in three shifts, to our rapidly growing repair shop at GE Aviation Hungary. We are undergoing considerable changes to the shop and present an opportunity for you to become involved and support and help drive these changes. We offer the opportunity to work within the Aviation Repair network working at a facility that has one of the largest portfolio of Aircraft Engine platforms in Europe.
The Production Manager will demonstrate accountability for all operational objectives related to the engine part repair. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in short term planning and execution as well as contribute to long-term business strategy.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide total cell / group leadership in the attainment of goals with respect to safety, quality, cost, turn-around time, on time delivery, LEAN production and compliance.
- Drive process / product improvement, New Product Implementations and provide process method excellence throughout the organization; readily adopt, implement and mature LEAN processes for wing to wing product flow
- Establish, manage and continuously improve a LEAN culture at the cell/function level to help achieve common goals and customer satisfaction
- Select, hire, train, develop, and provide ongoing leadership and direction of assigned personnel (approximately 30 to 35 direct reports)
- Manage and execute the reorganization projects within budget
- Drive the productivity improvements and contribute to Kaizen events, lead daily Gemba to enhance safety, quality and delivery output within the area
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to work in three shifts operation (06-14-22)
- Has clearly demonstrated implementing/leading Lean/Kaizen activities with proven outcomes
- Experience in a manufacturing or repair shop leadership role
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in a matrix environment
- Demonstrated skills in coaching and mentoring talent
- Experience leading and motivating diverse workforce
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Understanding of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production control, and standard cost management; strong financial acumen
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills both in English and in Hungarian
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college is an advantage
