ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting the Oak Ridge National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Responsibilities
Model utility system/facility power systems using SKM and conduct the necessary analysis which includes short circuit analysis, protective device coordination, equipment evaluation, arc flash and shock hazard analysis.
Engage in meetings and walkthroughs to understand and quantify the scope of work and gather data from facility electrical systems.
Extract crucial information from electrical drawings, legacy drawings, field data, and submittals.
Work with drafter to update electrical drawings based on the SKM model
Develop reports for engineering studies.
Format the results and provide recommendations to remedy power system deficiencies.
Report creation utilizing software packages to create analysis reports on the facility electrical systems.
Label printing of safety identification for equipment per the generated reports.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
Ability to utilize software packages to model electrical systems.
Knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, NEC and/or NESC.
Familiar with electrical drawings (specifically one-lines, power plans, and panel schedules).
