The Challenge 

We’re looking for a Principal Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team at OneTrust in the capacity of Deployment and Platform Automation. The role will be to partner with product and engineering teams to maintain the operations of product development for scalability, reliability and agility. This person will ensure development teams are following best practices regarding deploying code efficiently and robustly in non-production and ensure a safe, secure path to production.  

 

Your Mission 

  • The Principal Engineer – Deployment Automation will lead the design and develop cloud automation framework and infrastructure to enable automated deployment, scaling, and management of cloud-based applications. 
  • Keeping the framework in line with the SDLC process defines the criteria for code path from lower non-production environments to production environments in an automated fashion. 
  • Maintain and design scripts, tools, repositories that are efficient, robust and secure.  
  • Work with Product, Module, Infrastructure teams to ensure the Continuous Delivery and Deployment of services by breaking down services to scalable, smaller, deployable code structure.  

Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure to support our services. 

  • Collaborate with different functional groups to identify gaps, prioritize, and resolve issues.  
  • Share knowledge and experience with the Engineering organization.  
  • Share findings with technical leadership and senior management.  

 

Your Experience Includes 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical or business field 
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in the CI/CD and DevOps domain. 
  • Proficiency in Python and other scripting languages. 
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps tools. 
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. 
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and principles, including Terraform and Ansible. 
  • Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, including scripting for automated deployments. 
  • Solid understanding of application performance factors across multiple layers database, network, CPU, JVM tuning, memory analysis, thread management, and query optimization. 
  • Agile development experience, with a strong grasp of iterative and collaborative workflows. 
  • Experience coordinating work across distributed teams, including onshore/offshore collaboration. 

Extra Awesome 

  • Prior experience coaching development teams in adopting true DevOps methodologies. 
  • Prior experience shipping code to production multiple times a day.
