The University of Miami Medical Group (UMMG) Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking a Staff Physician to provide exceptional care for adults in a primary care clinic. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team committed to excellence in patient care, education, and research.

Core Job Functions:

  • Deliver comprehensive care appropriate for a primary care clinic with a multicultural adult patient population across UHealth ambulatory locations

  • Engagement in scholarly activities, and institutional service including clinical research, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows may also be an essential part of the position

  • Participation in quality improvement initiatives and systems compliance initiatives; and Division, Departmental, Medical School and University-wide service

  • May maintain outpatient clinical practice at any of our UHealth ambulatory locations.

  • Manage a schedule of 9 half-day sessions per week

  • May be involved in clinical/educational activities at Jackson Memorial Hospital including inpatient wards, medical consultation service and the ambulatory resident clinic

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree with completion of an ACGME-accredited US Internal Medicine internship and residency

  • American Board Certification (or eligibility) in Internal Medicine

  • Eligible for unrestricted Florida medical licensure

  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS (if applicable).

  • Valid DEA licensure

  • Commitment to patient-centered care and academic excellence

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.

  • Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements

  • Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care
