About the role
The Electrophysiology Registered Nurse functions as a member of the Electrophysiology patient care team that includes registered nurses, Electrophysiology Cardiovascular Technologists, nurse practitioners, cardiology fellows and faculty physicians. This individual is responsible for helping to develop and implement systems to assure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab. Duties include but are not limited to the patient assessment, administration of medications, moderate sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, circulating during EP procedures and other procedures scheduled in our invasive procedure labs. This position also assists in pre and post patient assessment and patient care, patient and family teaching, during the invasive procedures. This individual is able to demonstrate clinical expertise in working with electrophysiology patients during invasive diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology, and device implantation procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
- Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
- Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
- Update and manage patient records
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information
- Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
- Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain units
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- Two years of experience as a registered nurse in cardiology procedural areas or Two years of experience as a critical care nurse
- Previous Electrophysiology (EP) experience strongly preferred.
- Previous Moderate Sedation experience strongly preferred.
- Prior EP experience is strongly preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic computer proficiency
- Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range:
$39.02- $90.05This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
