This role is a permanent, full-time role and is based at our site in Brisbane.

About the Role:

The GMP Cleanroom Services Supervisor manages and develops a dedicated team of external contract cleaning staff responsible for maintaining facility cleaning standards, hygiene compliance, and contamination control processes within a cGMP manufacturing environment.

This role ensures effective day-to-day cleaning operations oversight, drives quality and compliance through structured training and inspections, and serves as the key liaison between cleaning operations and the site's Contamination Manager. The supervisor maintains adherence to cGMP and EH&S requirements while partnering cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to support site contamination control improvement initiatives and operational excellence.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee all facility cleaning operations to ensure tasks are completed to the required standards. Conduct regular visual inspections to verify quality, hygiene, and adherence to SOPs, ensure cleaning schedules are executed as planned, and follow up on all corrective actions to completion.

  • Manage the onboarding of new employees in collaboration with the site's training/onboarding team, ensuring smooth integration into facility operations. Deliver structured training to all cleaning staff on site procedures, equipment use, and safety standards, maintain accurate training and compliance records, and ensure all employees are fully competent before working independently.

  • Monitor and report on facility maintenance requirements, working in conjunction with the site's Engineering (ENG) team to coordinate all MEX requests and ensure fit and finish standards are maintained through timely repairs and upgrades.

  • Collaborate closely with the site's Contamination Manager by actively participating in site contamination meetings, acting as the key liaison between the cleaning team and stakeholders, and ensuring all agreed action items are executed to improve cleaning schedules, processes, and overall efficiency.

  • Manage the site's uniform programme to ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards, maintaining adequate supply to meet staffing requirements, coordinating transport and distribution of uniforms, and ensuring timely replacement of damaged items and right-sizing based on workforce needs.

  • Coordinating and managing training activities for both new and existing cleaning staff. Skill assessments formal sign-off process, confirming that employees have met required skill levels before being cleared for independent work

  • Support team SMEs in performing troubleshooting, contribute to the implementation of relevant new technologies/equipment/process improvement, and train co-workers including approval of on-the-job training.

  • Promote and reinforce adherence to cGMP, EH&S, and Chain of Responsibility obligations.

  • Accountable for the leadership and performance of the facility cleaning team, ensuring effective execution of cleaning operations, training governance, and compliance with hygiene and contamination control standards within a cGMP manufacturing environment.

  • Ensure facility cleaning operations support manufacturing activities through proactive planning, quality inspections, adherence to cleaning schedules, and timely completion of corrective actions.

  • Maintain inspection readiness and ensure adherence to the Patheon cGMP Quality Management System and EH&S requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cleaning processes, contamination control effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance to support site operational excellence.

  • Develop organisational capability within the cleaning team through structured training, competency verification, mentoring, and performance management of contract staff.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Support Services, Engineering, Quality, and the Contamination Manager to ensure coordinated execution of facility readiness, contamination control initiatives, and process improvements.

  • Act as the primary point of contact and escalation for facility cleaning operations, uniform programme management, and contractor performance matters.

Education

  • Advanced Degree plus 3 years of facilities or operations experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of facilities or operations experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory/leadership role

  • Preferred Fields of Study: Facilities Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Science, Business or related technical field

Experience

  • Experience in GMP/ISO regulated manufacturing environment preferred

  • Knowledge of facility cleaning operations, hygiene standards, and contamination control processes

  • Experience managing contract staff or external service providers preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent through coaching, training and performance management

  • Strong organisational, scheduling, and planning skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively across functions and manage vendor relationships

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to drive corrective actions to completion

  • Knowledge of safety regulations, quality systems, and cGMP regulatory compliance requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and documentation management systems

  • Ability to work unsupervised with flexibility, reliability, and assertiveness

  • Responsible and proactive approach to operational challenges

  • Adhere to OHS policies and procedures and ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment

  • Adhere to the Chain of Responsibility obligations under the Australian Heavy Vehicle National Law

  • Your position may require you to participate in on call work. If you are on call you are required to be available for immediate return to work outside of your normal and regular work pattern. Should this be a requirement of your position, you will be remunerated per the Company’s policy.
