Job Description

We are seeking an experienced RF/Electrical Calibration Technician to join our Austin laboratory. This is a key technical role for a hands-on professional who can independently perform complex calibrations, troubleshoot measurement issues, and help expand our RF and electrical capabilities.

The ideal candidate will bring strong instrumentation experience, sound metrology practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

Location: Austin, Texas

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate, adjust, and troubleshoot RF, microwave, and electronic test equipment
  • Perform calibrations on signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, frequency counters, and related instrumentation
  • Complete precision electrical calibrations on meters, sources, multifunction calibrators, and bench equipment
  • Follow ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540.3, internal procedures, and customer requirements
  • Evaluate out-of-tolerance conditions, measurement anomalies, and equipment performance issues
  • Maintain accurate calibration records and technical documentation
  • Support turnaround time, productivity, and quality objectives
  • Assist with procedure improvements and expanded technical capabilities
  • Perform occasional local or regional customer site visits and same-day travel assignments as business needs require

Qualifications/Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant calibration experience preferred
  • Strong RF instrumentation background required
  • Experience with Keysight / Agilent / HP, Rohde & Schwarz, Tektronix, and Fluke equipment preferred
  • Commercial calibration laboratory, military metrology, PMEL, or TMDE background highly valued
  • Understanding of uncertainty, traceability, and accredited quality systems
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and ability to work independently
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for customer support and on-site calibration work

We’re seeking a highly experienced technician who can support our expanding electrical calibration scope, particularly in high-accuracy electrical and RF measurements to join our Tescom team, an Accredited Labs company. 

As the Electrical Calibration Technician, you will work independently to calibrate various equipment across differing fields and environments. We service a wide variety of Central Texas customers across many industries, which requires a broad cross-section of skills.

The ideal candidate has well-rounded calibration experience in electronic and physical/dimensional types of equipment as our well-equipped laboratory covers calibrations in many disciplines. These include a wide variety of electronic/electrical and RF microwave instruments; physical/dimensional instruments such as calipers, micrometers, torque instruments and transducers, pressure gauges, scales and analytical balances, thread/plug/pin gauges, pH meters, humidity instruments, airflow meters, and many others.
