A Day in the Life

We’re seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Global Pricing Insights & Analytics team and collaborate with our stakeholders in Germany. In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to the business by understanding core business drivers, quickly capturing stakeholder needs, and translating them into impactful analytical and reporting solutions.

While you bring a solid understanding of Power BI and common analytical tools, the focus of the role is on strong business acumen, excellent stakeholder management, clear communication, and the ability to tell a compelling story with data. You take a proactive approach, identify opportunities for improvement across existing tools and reports, and help shape how the organization leverages data for decision‑making. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Develop, maintain, and operate enterprise‑level Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring accuracy, performance, and consistency.

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather and challenge requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into effective insights.

• Apply data storytelling techniques to turn complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations.

• Support design and evolution of data models and governance frameworks, including user access and lifecycle management.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure data quality and consistent delivery of reporting outputs.

• Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders by analyzing trends, surfacing insights, and contributing to pricing, contracting, and reporting tool deployments.

• Demonstrate excellent stakeholder‑management skills by facilitating alignment, managing expectations, and ensuring transparency throughout the analytics lifecycle.

• Proactively identify optimization opportunities in dashboards, processes, and reporting structures.

• Support and mentor junior colleagues, contributing to data literacy and best practices within the organization.

 

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Excellent command of German and English (spoken and written).

• Experience in a Business Intelligence, Analytics, or similar role, with hands‑on usage of Power BI and Excel.

• Good working knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and general data‑modeling concepts (no deep technical developer focus required).

• Basic understanding of SQL and experience working with structured datasets.

• Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems such as SAP or SFDC.

• Strong business understanding and the ability to quickly absorb stakeholder needs.

• Excellent storytelling skills to communicate insights clearly and persuasively.

• Proven ability to engage stakeholders proactively, challenge requirements constructively, and bridge technical and business perspectives.

• Passion for teamwork, delivering great customer experiences, and continuous learning.

 Experience with agile practices and the rollout of analytics products, including communication and training and experience preparing narratives and insight presentations for senior leadership will be beneficial

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
