About the Role
The Data Engineer I supports the execution of conversions, data hygiene, basic edits and custom data services by performing basic data manipulation, editing, and transformation tasks. This role helps maintain the accuracy and structure of data across critical nonprofit datasets.
Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Run and monitor recurring data update and ingestion jobs.
Perform basic data editing, formatting, and normalization in SQL-based workflows.
Support the transformation of raw or external data into usable internal formats.
Assist in data validation, anomaly tracking, and issue escalation.
Document standard workflows for future execution and training.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Foundational understanding of data formats and transformations.
Ability to manipulate and edit structured datasets using SQL or spreadsheet tools.
Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and cleanliness.
Strong willingness to learn data tools and internal processes.
Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
Experience in the nonprofit or political campaign space preferred
This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by CWA Local 1400, 2336 or 13000.
