The Senior Project Manager is part of the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) within the Analytical Instrumentation Group (AIG) and reports to the Senior Manager, Project Management Office. This is a site-based role in Brno, Czech Republic, with travel of up to 25%.

CAD develops analytical instruments and related services for industries including Safety & Security, Environmental, Food Safety, Energy, Mining, Life Sciences Manufacturing, and Recycling. Our products are used in laboratories, production environments, and the field, where customers depend on reliability, robustness, and ease of use.

Position Summary

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex product development programs from concept through commercialization, with primary responsibility for software delivery while ensuring integration across hardware, firmware, and associated services. You will drive cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality products on time and within budget, collaborating closely with R&D, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and other business functions.

What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end product development programs with primary accountability for software delivery, ensuring successful integration across hardware, firmware, and associated services from concept through commercialization.
  • Develop and execute project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, and risk to achieve key milestones and product release commitments.
  • Partner with R&D, Systems Engineering, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Sourcing, and Service to ensure technical alignment and successful product delivery.
  • Manage software development projects using Waterfall methodologies while collaborating effectively with Agile/Scrum development teams to deliver predictable, high-quality software releases.
  • Drive scope management, requirements tracking, configuration management, and change control to protect project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical and program risks, resolving cross-functional issues and escalating critical blockers when needed.
  • Coordinate project resources with functional managers to balance priorities, capacity, and business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with development processes, quality systems, and regulatory requirements, including design reviews, verification, validation, and project documentation.
  • Communicate project status, risks, key decisions, and trade-offs to senior leadership and stakeholders through clear, data-driven reporting.
  • Coordinate manufacturing transfer, service readiness, documentation, and release activities to support successful product launches and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 7+ years of project management experience leading complex product development programs.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects involving software, hardware, and firmware development.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Experience delivering projects from concept through commercialization.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycles and project management methodologies.
  • Experience managing software development projects using Waterfall methodologies, with working knowledge of Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Project, Teams, and Excel.
  • Excellent project planning, organizational, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment without direct authority.
  • Ability to balance strategic objectives with day-to-day execution while managing multiple priorities.
  • Executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
