Job Description

What is the opportunity?
We are looking for a highly experienced Quality Engineering (QE) Lead to drive Quality Engineering practices and test automation excellence for Salesforce applications within RBC Insurance Technology.

This is a senior hands-on technical role requiring strong expertise across Salesforce Quality Engineering, test automation, and quality strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with Salesforce development teams, architects, DevOps teams, Product Owners, and technology partners to improve engineering efficiency, automation coverage, quality, and release reliability.

Strong Salesforce experience and hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and Salesforce testing tools are mandatory.

What will you do?

  • Lead and execute Quality Engineering activities for Salesforce applications.

  • Define and implement end-to-end QE and test automation strategies covering functional, integration, API, regression, and end-to-end testing.

  • Build and enhance automated quality gates across the CI/CD pipeline.

  • Drive increased test automation coverage and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive test automation frameworks for Salesforce applications.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual testing activities through automation.

  • Troubleshoot complex Salesforce test automation, integration, and quality issues.

  • Partner with developers and architects to improve engineering practices and shift quality and security earlier in the SDLC.

  • Support release planning and identify quality risks and testing dependencies.

  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and best-practice recommendations to QE and development teams.

  • Establish and track QE metrics such as automation coverage, defect leakage, test execution rates, and release quality.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI/GenAI within QE to improve test generation, defect analysis, and automation.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, software engineering, or test automation.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce development and testing ecosystems.

  • Strong Quality Engineering background with hands-on experience in test automation.

  • Experience with functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and API testing.

  • Experience integrating automated tests and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks.

  • Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber).

  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills across test automation, environments, and application integrations.

  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and modern SDLC practices.

  • Ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives and provide technical direction to QE teams.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across development, architecture, business, and technology teams.

Nice-to-have

  • Salesforce certifications.

  • Experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud and/or Experience Cloud.

  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., Zephyr, TestRail, Flossum Robotic Testing).

  • Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipeline integration.

  • Experience implementing SAST/DAST and security quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with performance engineering and performance test automation.

  • Experience with API and enterprise integration testing technologies.

  • Experience applying AI/GenAI to Quality Engineering use cases.

  • Experience within financial services or insurance technology.
