JOB DESCRIPTION:

With strong business growth and cutting-edge product development, we have an incredible opportunity for a Vision Engineer to join our Operations Engineering Group and make a significant impact across our manufacturing area. 

The Role: As a Senior Vision Systems Engineer, you’ll take ownership of specifying, sourcing, installing, and commissioning machine vision solutions for high-speed automated manufacturing equipment. You’ll work closely with automation engineers and suppliers to ensure robust, reliable inspection systems that meet production demands. This is a hands-on role where you’ll combine practical engineering skills with vision system expertise to deliver solutions from concept through to production.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Specify and select vision hardware and software for automated inspection systems.
  • Lead installation, setup, and tuning of vision systems on high-speed automated equipment.
  • Develop and optimise vision programs (Cognex, Keyence advantageous ) for reliablty, yield,  performance etc .
  • Collaborate with machine builders, automation/ control engineers, and suppliers to integrate vision systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve vision related issues in production environments.
  • Maintain awareness of upcoming vision technologies and recommend improvements.

About You: 

  • Background in industrial automation, machine building, or maintenance engineering with vision system experience.
  • Proven experience integrating machine vision systems into automated equipment.
  • Familiarity with Cognex and/or Keyence platforms; ability to write and optimize vision programs.
  • Basic PLC knowledge (Siemens S7 or Allen Bradley/Rockwell) beneficial.
  • Practical problem solving skills and ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Formal qualification (Recognised apprenticeship/HNC/HND/Degree) in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace or similar).
  • Comfortable with change control processes and validation of system changes.
  • Ability to create accurate documentation and follow established procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with GxP or GMP principles and their application
