Dispatcher

GFL Environmental is looking for a Dispatcher to join our team in Victoria, BC!

As a Dispatcher, you’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient daily operations by coordinating driver schedules, addressing on-route issues, and supporting the dispatch team. You’ll act as the main point of contact between drivers, operations, and customer service - making sure routes run smoothly, service issues are resolved promptly, and the team stays on track.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily dispatch operations and route assignments

• Support, guide, and coach dispatch staff to meet service goals

• Respond to customer and service issues in real time

• Work with routing specialists to improve route efficiency

• Monitor driver check-ins and ensure accurate documentation

• Lead daily safety tailgate meetings

• Coordinate with operations, customer service, and maintenance

• Maintain accurate dispatch records and data entry

• Assist in planning daily driver coverage based on service needs

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation (lead or supervisory experience is an asset)

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

• TRUX experience is an asset, or willingness to learn

• Willingness to work extended hours or weekends as needed

• Knowledge of routing and scheduling best practices
