About the role
YOUR MISSION
We are revolutionizing spacecraft systems and are searching for candidates passionate about hands-on engineering and advancing new technologies in space. As an Avionics Production Engineer you will have the opportunity to develop, implement, and optimize the production processes for avionics, electrical, and software-loaded hardware across multiple vehicle types at True Anomaly. You will directly coordinate with engineers, technicians, and others to create optimized designs and bring them into reality to fly and operate in spacer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the setup and scaling of spacecraft avionics manufacturing capabilities for developmental programs and rate production.
- Develop work instructions for the assembly, integration, and test of avionics subsystems including flight computers, power systems, RF/communications hardware, harnesses, and related ground support equipment and tooling.
- Directly support production on the floor to ensure efficient build of avionics hardware, addressing bottlenecks and troubleshooting technical issues as needed.
- Generate and resolve non-compliance reports for avionics hardware, conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Oversee calibration and certification of electrical ground support equipment including bench power supplies, oscilloscopes, cable testers, and functional test equipment.
- Drive process improvements and corrective actions to increase the efficiency and reliability of avionics hardware manufacturing.
- Collaborate with design engineering to provide manufacturability feedback and contribute to technical documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, process flows, and test procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, electrical, computer engineering or related field.
- Years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering for aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems in line with engineering level.
- Experience with PLM, MES, configuration and data management controls and systems.
- Experience working to AS9100 process and standards.
- Experience with working hands-on-hardware and fabrication methods
- Experience building and producing classified hardware in SCIF’s or SAP facilities.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the design, manufacturing, and testing of spacecraft avionics components (e.g., flight computers, IMUs, power distribution units, RF systems, cable harnesses).
- Direct experience in spacecraft electrical integration, with an emphasis on harness routing, connector interface control, and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Background in spacecraft avionics functional, environmental, and qualification testing (thermal-vacuum, EMI/EMC, vibration).
- Experience with software loading, firmware configuration, and hardware-in-the-loop test processes.
- Experience building and producing classified hardware in SCIFs or SAP facilities.
COMPENSATION
Base Salary:
- Production Engineer 1: $85,000-$105,000
