Database Architect

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Architect to lead our efforts in optimizing and enhancing the performance of our existing database architecture. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in performance tuning, query optimization, and scalability improvements for PostgreSQL environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and optimize existing PostgreSQL database structures and queries
• Design and implement scalable database solutions
• Develop and maintain database security protocols
• Create and manage backup and recovery procedures
• Collaborate with development teams to improve database integration
• Monitor database performance and implement proactive optimizations
• Lead database migration and upgrade projects

Here's what you'll need:

• Security + (Plus) certification
• 4 to 7+ years of experience with one or more of the following:
  • PostgreSQL performance tuning, query optimization, and scalability improvements
  • Database design principles, including normalization, denormalization, and partitioning strategies
  • Designing and implementing scalable database solutions
  • PostgreSQL security best practices and implementation of robust security protocols
  • Creating and managing backup and recovery procedures for PostgreSQL environments
  • PostgreSQL monitoring tools and implementing proactive performance optimizations
  • Leading database migration and upgrade projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize complex database systems
• Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working alongside development teams to improve database integration

Bonus points if you have:

• 2+ years of experience with Linux operating system
