This position primarily serves as a single point of contact to support accurate billing, audits or projects that interact with the SAP billing system and their jurisdiction. This will include resolving billing issues supporting the Call Center, Customer Delivery, Large Account Management, Community Relations as well as Tariff Compliance inquiries and billing accuracy in SAP. This role is actively involved in record management of agreements between customers and company, including data accuracy support and validity of lighting inventory. This position is also responsible for analyzing and quantifying inefficient processes in the customer information/billing system, work management system, and contract management systems; this includes communicating with IT on any issues related to the maintenance of various platforms to improve the accuracy of Outdoor Lighting revenue and systems.

Responsibilities

Billing Support

  • Serve as SPOC to support and resolve jurisdictional lighting inventory and billing inquiries from CCO, OL Program Managers, LAM, CDL and Consumer Affairs.
  • Communicate with IT for their own JUR as necessary for programmatic changes to enhance billing revenue accuracy
  • Process all inventory adjustments as required including all applicable billing changes with Revenue Services
  • Closely monitor and analyze detailed revenue reports to determine appropriate revenue recovery efforts
  • Analyze agreements due to expiration, early termination and process accounting/charging request changes
  • Miscellaneous responsibilities that support the lighting business

Work Management Process Support

  • Analyze and quantify the impact of inefficient processes in the ULAT (Lighting Agreement Tool), SAP Billing Set Up from ULAT and Contract Management Systems
  • Coordination between IT, CDL and Product Specialists on any work order closing issues and ISU/SAP asset impact
  • Support and resolve any CDL agreement SAP set up issues as well as those that cause BPEMs (Business Process Exception Management) delays in billing
  • Support CDL Design Managers on all ULAT processes and checklists and their interface with SAP Billing Set Up

Business & System Oversight

  • Administer and facilitate activities related to the maintenance of various lighting and asset management systems
  • Analyze jurisdictional rate accuracy between tariff and ISU/SAP and coordinate with the Rates Group for any corrections
  • Process SAP BPEM exception reports and determine appropriate actions
  • Provide support for lighting and installation audits

Record Management

  • Manage/Deliver reports and analytics
  • Actively involved in record management of agreements and contracts between customers and company
  • Facilitate the digitization of hardcopy documentation and agreements for recordkeeping purposes
  • Ensure data accuracy and validity of data in lighting databases.

Training

  • Develop, deliver and support system-wide training within various lighting processes and programs for stakeholders

Safety

  • Works safely according to company principles, procedures, and standards.
  • Designs safety into projects by communicating safety specific information.
  • Actively participates in safety meetings, discussions, presentations, stretching and safety training.
  • Shares near misses and identifies and resolves hazards.
  • Follows Keys to Safe Driving.

Basic/Required Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Business or other related degree
  • 3 years minimum related work experience
  • In lieu of degree, A high school diploma/GED and 5 years related work experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of lighting related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
  • Working knowledge of various common platform software including office applications, work management, engineering design tools, customer billing system SAP and contract management systems.
  • Basic knowledge of lighting contract system
  • Basic knowledge of lighting products, policies and standards
  • Basic knowledge of different light sources and lighting equipment applications
  • Basic knowledge of engineering design tools
  • Basic knowledge of Duke Energy electric distribution system and construction
  • Possesses knowledge of Duke Energy accounting practices
  • Possesses knowledge of Duke Energy rates and tariffs
  • Demonstrated experience working with contracts and legal documents

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment with exposure to computer monitor and prolonged sitting at workstation.
  • Infrequently perform field visits.
  • Limited overnight travel
  • 40-hour work week with overtime as needed
  • Virtual Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from a remote location after the onboarding period. However, virtual employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.

  • Basic knowledge of outdoor lighting

  • Basic knowledge of work management system
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with external and/or internal customers in a courteous and tactful manner (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly motivated and able to work independently with limited direct supervision
  • Demonstrated effective planning and organizational skills
  • Process oriented while understanding the capabilities of technology
  • Demonstrated ability to convince and aspire others to be passionate about the business and lead by example
