About the role

We are looking for an experienced Branch Manager to take full ownership of the performance, safety, and governance of our Middelburg branch.

This role is responsible for leading the branch as a profitable, compliant, and customer‑focused operation, ensuring strong commercial results, disciplined financial control, and a high‑performance team culture.

The Branch Manager acts as the senior leader at site level and is accountable for delivering sales growth, operational excellence, and outstanding service to our customers.

What you’ll do


Branch Leadership: Lead the Middelburg branch as a profitable, compliant, and customer-focused operation, providing strong leadership and stability to a team of approximately 30–40 employees, including 5 direct reports.
Commercial & Sales Leadership: Drive revenue growth and margin targets by translating company sales strategy into clear branch-level execution plans, overseeing sales pipelines, forecasting, pricing discipline, and customer retention.
Operational Management: Manage day-to-day branch operations including sales support, stores, dispatch, and customer service, ensuring service levels and turnaround times meet customer commitments. Coordinate across functions to improve efficiency and maintain branch infrastructure.
Inventory & Stock Control: Ensure accurate stockholding and effective inventory management, including cycle counts and stock takes, balancing customer availability with working capital efficiency, and preventing stock losses or write-offs.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, manage complaints and escalations professionally, and represent Weir positively in the local market.
Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements, promote safe working practices, and lead by example.
 

What you’ll bring

  • Must-haves:

  • Proven people management experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in mining or related industries.

  • Strong mining industry knowledge, especially in coal mining and mineral processing flows.

  • Commercial and sales acumen with responsibility for revenue and customer relationships.

  • Experience in stock and inventory management with strong safety and compliance leadership.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Established industry relationships within mining organizations and a strong regional network.

  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from senior leaders to operational teams.

  • Experience working directly on mining sites or within mining operations.

  • Familiarity with pumps, wear parts, consumables, and services within mineral processing flows.
