About the role
Job Summary:
Mission Valley Post Acute is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in pulmonary care to join our team on a part-time basis. The Pulmonary Nurse RN will play a vital role in managing and supporting patients with respiratory and chronic pulmonary conditions, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in a post-acute setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with pulmonary and respiratory conditions
Perform detailed respiratory assessments, including monitoring oxygenation, lung sounds, and ventilatory status
Administer medications, oxygen therapy, and specialized pulmonary treatments as prescribed
Manage and monitor patients requiring respiratory support (e.g., nebulizers, inhalers, tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP)
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement care plans
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress
Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment plans, and preventive care
Ensure adherence to all clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (California)
Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience; pulmonary, respiratory, or post-acute care experience preferred
Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
Experience with respiratory equipment and pulmonary care techniques
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Current BLS/CPR certification required (ACLS preferred)
Schedule:
Part-time position with flexible scheduling options
May include weekends, evenings, and holidays based on facility needs
