Job Summary

The Bakken trend is a sequence of liquids-rich sand and shale layers in the Williston Basin, which stretches across western North Dakota and into Canada. The company’s position in the Bakken development area is comprised of approximately 790,000 net unconventional acres, which include 382,000 net mineral acres and 180,000 net leasehold acres. The company focuses on unconventional tight-oil play development and production in the most prolific portion of the basin.

During 2024, net production averaged 115 MBOED. We operated four rigs and one frac crew on average during 2024, resulting in 66 operated wells drilled and 83 operated wells brought online.

Position Overview

If selected as the Bakken Measurement Foreman you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring contract obligations and lease agreements are accurately executed and fully aligned with measurement systems, including metering, testing, calibration, and sampling. You will be responsible for on-site supervision and coordination of measurement facility operations across the South Measurement area. Lead a team of company employees and third-party contractors to ensure safe, accurate custody transfer measurement of oil, gas and produced water; enforce internal measurement policies and applicable industry/regulatory standards.

Partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Accounting and Regulatory teams. Additionally, you will lead Safety and team meetings and represent the company at relevant sponsored events.

This position is based in Dunn Center, ND.

Candidates must currently reside or be willing to relocate within a 50-mile driving radius of Dunn Center, ND

This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Lead day-to-day measurement operations for oil, gas, and produced water across assigned area.

  • Ensure measurement integrity and compliance with industry standards and internal controls (e.g., API MPMS/AGA), company procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BLM (43 CFR 3174–3175, as applicable) and NDIC rules/Orders.

  • Supervise, schedule, and mentor measurement technicians; assign work, verify competency, and ensure quality of completed tasks.

  • Oversee proving, calibration, and verification activities; validate results and initiate corrective actions when out of tolerance.

  • Maintain measurement equipment reliability: troubleshoot instrument and control issues (flow computers, transmitters, analyzers, valves), coordinate repairs, and manage critical spares.

  • Perform and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance on measurement equipment to ensure safe, accurate, and reliable service.

  • Review, validate, and reconcile measurement data. Resolve discrepancies with operations, accounting, and purchasers.

  • Manage sampling and quality programs ensure proper handling, chain of custody, and lab coordination as required.

  • Oversee produced-water gathering pipeline system operations, integrity, and performance, including line routing/valving changes, pigging coordination, and outage response to minimize downtime and environmental risk.

  • Implement and enforce HSE requirements: conduct field engagements and participate in incident reporting and near-miss follow-up.

  • Coordinate with production/operations on equipment changes, startups/shutdowns, and outages to minimize measurement impacts.

  • Conduct pipeline hold tests and leak detection tests on water gathering system.

  • Ensure measurement systems meet environmental and emissions requirements (vapor recovery/controls where applicable) and support compliance documentation.

  • Maintain audit-ready measurement and regulatory records and support timely, accurate reporting and responses for BLM, NDIC, purchaser, and internal audits.

  • Track performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Order materials and services within authorization limits; manage vendors and verify invoicing aligns to work performed.

  • Participate in capital and maintenance projects by reviewing designs, FAT/SAT activities, commissioning, and turnover to ensure measurement integrity.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Current/valid driver's license.

  • 5 or more years of experience with oil and gas measurement, preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.

  • Intermediate level of familiarity with BLM and NDIC Rules and Regulations. 

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word. 

  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis.

  • Currently reside or are willing to relocate within a 50-mile driving radius of Dunn Center, ND.

  • Willing and able to perform (with or without reasonable accommodation) the following; Work outside in harsh weather conditions; Wear personal protective equipment (PPE); Be on call; Work unscheduled overtime; Work weekends

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years of supervisory or lead experience.

  • Extensive working knowledge of field operations including multi-phase process flow, separation, measurement, and custody transfer.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership in promoting safe work practices.

  • Excellent communication skills in working with multiple disciplines.
