About the role
We are currently looking for an Associate Scientist, Mechanistic Pharmacology (cardiovascular, renal and hematology) to join our team in Schlieren. ZH.
Key Tasks
Execute hands-on development of human in vitro models and functional assays to support translational research programs.
Generate high-quality data to characterize the mode of action of novel therapeutic candidates across cardiovascular, renal, and hematology indications.
Independently perform cell culture and functional assay workflows with strong attention to scientific rigor, data quality, and reproducibility.
Contribute to the design, optimization, and continuous improvement of experimental approaches and assay performance.
Maintain accurate documentation of experimental work and support implementation of laboratory best practices and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and contribute to a safe and well-organized working environment.
Collaborate closely with other scientists across projects and functions, contributing to a highly interactive and team-oriented research environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant laboratory experience; industry experience is an advantage.
3+ years of practical laboratory experience in cell biology, with strong expertise in human cell culture; experience with iPSC-derived in vitro models is highly preferred.
Proficiency in molecular biology, RT-qPCR, immunoassays, flow cytometry (FACS), or imaging-based techniques.
Experience troubleshooting experiments, handling laboratory equipment, and optimizing workflows to improve assay robustness and performance.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of experiments from study design through execution, analysis, and presentation of results.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Strong collaborative mindset, with the flexibility to work effectively across teams and with different project stakeholders
