Firmware Engineer

Department Intro:

SPG Infrastructure and Tools designs and maintains advanced test, debug tool, and validation infrastructures supporting next‑generation storage products (SSD, MNAND), enabling faster time‑to‑market and high product quality.

Position Overview:

As a Firmware Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., the role focuses on designing and developing high‑performance controller firmware for volatile and non‑volatile memory systems. The position involves firmware development for ARM‑based embedded systems, contributing to innovative, high‑quality storage solutions.

Responsibilities:

Development of firmware for new platforms for SSD (Solid State Drives) tester:

• design, development,
• building,
• bench testing, debugging, and failure analysis

Minimum Qualifications:

• In depth knowledge and extensive experience with embedded firmware development.
• Expertise in the use of scripting languages, programming tools and environments.
• Extensive experience programming in C, Python.
• Understanding of storage interfaces including ideally PCIe/NVMe.
• Ability to work independently with a minimum of day-to-day supervision.
• Ability to work in a multi-functional team and under the pressure of multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the storage industry in SSD, storage systems, or related technology.
• Experience with NAND flash.
• FPGA knowledge
