Key Responsibilities
KPIs:
Overall OT/IF%, Customer OT/IF%, Demand Coverage, Total Inventory (units and $), Productive Inventory %, Health Checks compliance, Demand Fcst Error. C/D Compliance by Supply Chain; Liabilities at Mills or Makers; SKU Productivity. Team Morale, Training and Qualification.
Demand Planning Leadership
Lead the stream’s demand planning strategy and ensure full alignment with commercial and financial plans.
Guide forecasting across NPI, carryover, preseason, in-season, and longrange horizons
Ensure commercial strategies, financial targets, and demand signals are fully reconciled and unified.
Represent how demand decisions impact capacity, inventory, and fulfillment.
Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and segmentation logic.
Supply Planning Leadership
Direct the stream’s supply planning strategy to ensure readiness, balance, and longterm supply network health.
Oversee longrange supply planning, capacity alignment, and safety stock strategy (aligned to Whale content such as longrange planning, material forecasting, and capacity reviews).
Ensure supply plans reflect commercial intentions and financial commitments.
Provide the supply network perspective during commercial line reviews, financial planning cycles, and business case evaluations.
Partner with KBA to translate demand into sourcing strategies, vendor loading, and longterm capacity needs.
Owns SKU segmentation strategy, and coach SynchOps on execution of that strategy.
Order Coverage Leadership
Lead stream-level order coverage strategy to ensure customer commitments are reliable, feasible, and financially aligned.
Oversee order intake, allocation logic, preship/postship visibility, and exception escalation (based on Whale definitions such as order validation, load planning, and allocation).
Ensure that order coverage decisions are consistent with financial forecasts and commercial priorities.
Serve as the escalation point for service risks and tradeoffs.
Commercial, Financial & Supply Plan Integration
Act as the single point of convergence between the commercial organization and the supply network.
Lead the SIOP Cycle processes for the stream, while ensuring that commercial plans, financial forecasts, and supply network plans are one and the same.
Represent the supply network’s constraints, opportunities, and risks when business decisions are made.
Drive scenario planning with Merchandising, Sales, and Finance to evaluate demand shifts, assortment decisions, promotions, and capacity changes.
Provide clear options and tradeoffs that allow the commercial team to make informed, networkaligned decisions.
Stream Performance & Continuous Improvement
Own endtoend KPIs: forecast accuracy, OTIF, inventory days, inventory health, capacity utilization, and financial forecast adherence.
Identify structural improvements to agility, cost, lead time, and planning maturity across the supply network.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary planning team, including: Demand Business Planners, Supply Business Planners, Order Coverage Planner, KBA-based Stream Lead (dottedline coordination)
Build a culture of accountability, curiosity, and collaboration across the commercial, sourcing, finance, and execution ecosystem.
Strengthen team capabilities in planning, analytics, communication, and scenario modeling.
Experience and Capability Requirements
7–10+ years of progressive experience in supply network planning or equivalent consumer/retail planning environments.
Experience leading crossfunctional planning teams across demand, supply, and order fulfillment.
Strong ability to integrate commercial, financial, and supply perspectives into unified plans.
Expertise in forecasting, capacity planning, inventory optimization, and supply network strategy.
Proven ability to represent the supply network perspective in commercial and financial decisions.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Supply Network, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field required, advanced degree preferred.
Experience with integrated planning systems (Logility, SAP, or similar).
Understanding of global sourcing networks and Asiabased vendor ecosystems.
