 Job Title: Sr. Construction/Installation Engineer - (Structure - Jackets/WHT's

KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Contractors Office/ Fabrication Yard Office in Abu Dhabi for some time  and then will later move to Offshore Site on 6 weeks on/ 3 weeks off rotation.

Job Purpose

The Senior Construction-Installation Engineer - Structures is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the offshore construction, load-out, transportation, installation, hookup, and commissioning support activities related to Jackets, Wellhead Towers (WHTs), and associated offshore structural facilities.

The role provides technical leadership throughout project execution, ensuring offshore installation activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, client requirements, and international offshore standards. The position acts as the key interface between engineering, fabrication, marine operations, offshore construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Key Responsibilities

Construction & Installation Engineering

  • Lead construction and offshore installation engineering activities for jackets, WHTs, and structural components.
  • Review and validate installation methodologies, procedures, and execution strategies.
  • Ensure constructability requirements are incorporated during engineering and fabrication stages.
  • Support preparation of offshore installation work packs and execution plans.
  • Coordinate engineering support during offshore installation campaigns.
  • Monitor construction and installation performance against project schedules and milestones.

Offshore Structural Installation

Manage and supervise installation activities for:

  • Wellhead Towers (WHTs)
  • Jackets and Jacket Appendages
  • Pile-Supported Structures
  • Boat Landings
  • Conductors and Conductor Guide Frames
  • Foundation Structures and Brackets
  • Secondary Steel Structures
  • Helideck Support Structures
  • Risers and Structural Supports
  • Brownfield Structural Modifications

Load-Out & Transportation

  • Coordinate structural load-out activities from fabrication yards.
  • Review sea-fastening arrangements and transportation engineering studies.
  • Ensure safe handling and transportation of offshore structures.
  • Coordinate marine spread activities, including barges, tugs, and support vessels.
  • Participate in transportation risk assessments and readiness reviews.

Offshore Installation Execution

  • Support execution of offshore lifting, upending, positioning, piling, and installation activities.
  • Coordinate vessel mobilization and offshore construction resources.
  • Monitor installation progress and resolve site engineering issues.
  • Ensure installation activities comply with project execution plans and approved procedures.
  • Review daily offshore reports and provide technical recommendations where required.
  • Coordinate interface activities between marine, construction, and commissioning teams.

Engineering Review & Technical Support

  • Review installation analyses, lift studies, rigging plans, and construction drawings.
  • Evaluate and resolve technical queries, field change requests, and construction deviations.
  • Participate in HAZID, SIMOPS, constructability, and risk assessment workshops.
  • Support management of technical modifications during project execution.
  • Provide engineering solutions for offshore construction challenges.

HSE Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Ensure offshore construction activities are executed according to approved risk assessments and method statements.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and incident investigations.
  • Monitor compliance with permit-to-work and lifting procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement in offshore construction safety performance.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Interface with Engineering, Fabrication, Marine Operations, Hook-up, Commissioning, and Project Controls teams.
  • Coordinate with installation contractors, vessel operators, and subcontractors.
  • Attend client meetings, technical reviews, and progress reporting sessions.
  • Provide construction input for project planning and decision-making processes.

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Ensure compliance with project quality plans and inspection requirements.
  • Verify installation records, as-built documentation, and construction dossiers.
  • Support closure of punch list items and project handover activities.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and lessons-learned reviews.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Master's Degree is an advantage.

Professional Certifications (Preferred)

  • PMP Certification
  • Offshore Construction Safety Training (BOSIET/HUET)
  • Lifting and Rigging Certification
  • HSE-related certifications

Experience

  • Minimum 15-18 years of offshore construction and installation experience within Oil & Gas EPC/EPCI projects.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Senior Construction, Installation Engineering, or Offshore Execution role.
  • Proven experience in the installation of:
    • Offshore Jackets
    • Wellhead Towers (WHTs)
    • Pile Structures
    • Boat Landings
    • Structural Modules
    • Offshore Platforms
    • Brownfield Modifications
  • Experience managing offshore construction campaigns and marine spread operations.
  • Previous Middle East and offshore GCC project experience is highly preferred.
