As an IT Systems Engineer / Administrator specialising in Fircosoft sanctions screening solutions, you will be part of the Application Integration team, responsible for the technical implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of the Fircosoft platform within our financial institution. In this role, you will ensure the system effectively identifies and flags potential sanctions violations, working closely with IT, Compliance, and Operations teams. You will proactively adapt to evolving regulatory requirements and drive continuous improvements to enhance screening accuracy and operational resilience.

Please note that this position offers the possibility of internalisation, subject to performance and organisational needs.

YOUR CHALLENGE

  • Install, configure, and maintain Fircosoft software and associated infrastructure, including servers and databases

  • Develop, test, and optimise Fircosoft rules to accurately detect and flag suspicious transactions and potential sanctions breaches

  • Regularly assess system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement tuning measures to enhance screening accuracy and operational efficiency

  • Collaborate closely with IT, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure smooth integration into existing workflows and provide expert support for system-related incidents

  • Ensure Fircosoft operations comply with international sanctions regulations, Group-wide compliance policies, and internal procedural standards

  • Investigate and resolve system issues, including filtering engine errors and malfunctions across critical components

  • Maintain comprehensive change logs, generate performance reports, and document functional requirements and process flows

  • Monitor evolving regulatory requirements, updates to global sanctions lists, and new releases of the Fircosoft platform

  • Contribute to the enhancement of complex IT systems and play a key role during solution design and architecture discussions

  • Apply strong analytical, organisational, and conceptual thinking skills throughout the project lifecycle—from project management and system analysis to quality assurance

YOUR PROFILE

  • Degree in Computer Science from a university or technical college, with a proven track record as a system engineer / administrator in highly regulated environments

  • Solid understanding of Fircosoft products, including FircoContinuity, FircoTrust, and Firco Screen & Keep

  • Experience with list management, quality assurance, and maintaining audit trails

  • Familiarity with relevant financial regulations, such as OFAC, HMT, EU, and UN sanctions lists, and hands-on experience with sanctions screening processes

  • Strong technical skills, including database management (Oracle), PKI, SSH, digital certificates, IP networking, load balancing, firewalls, programming (Java, Shell, Perl), and messaging technologies (JMS, IBM MQ, Apache Kafka)

  • Ability to analyse data, identify patterns, and derive actionable insights to improve system performance and resolve issues

  • Experience in project planning, system implementation, and leading system/user acceptance testing

  • Proactive, organised, and self-motivated, with strong communication skills for effective collaboration within teams and with stakeholders

  • Understanding of business requirements and system workflows, with the ability to translate them into scalable technical solutions

  • Fluency in English (C1, written/verbal); German is a significant advantage

  • Willingness to participate in the team’s rotating 7x24 on-call service
