What you will have an opportunity to do:

The Director of Finance serves as the strategic financial leader of the resort, responsible for safeguarding assets, optimizing financial performance, and ensuring transparent reporting to two ownership groups and a third-party management company.
This role requires a highly diplomatic and detail-oriented executive who can balance competing priorities, maintain strict financial controls, and provide clear, actionable insights to all stakeholders while supporting luxury service standards.

Key Responsibilities
•    Act as a key advisor to the General Manager, ownership groups, and management company on all financial matters 
•    Drive financial strategy, long-term planning, and asset value enhancement 
•    Provide proactive analysis of financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities 
•    Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports tailored to each ownership group and the management company 
•    Ensure transparency, accuracy, and consistency across all financial communications 
•    Navigate and align differing priorities between owners while maintaining fiduciary integrity 
•    Support ownership meetings, investment reviews, and capital planning discussions 
•    Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash management 
•    Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes 
•    Maintain strong internal controls and safeguard company assets 
•    Lead the annual budget process in collaboration with department heads, ownership, and management company 
•    Prepare rolling forecasts and variance analysis 
•    Monitor departmental performance and enforce cost control measures without compromising luxury standards 
•    Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and local/state laws in Florida 
•    Coordinate internal and external audits 
•    Maintain adherence to management company standards and reporting requirements 
•    Oversee insurance, licensing, and risk management processes 
•    Manage capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis for projects and renovations 
•    Track and report on capital projects to ownership and management company 
•    Ensure proper accounting treatment and financial oversight of all major investments 
•    Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, and liquidity planning 
•    Optimize working capital and ensure appropriate reserves 
•    Manage debt compliance and lender reporting, if applicable 
•    Recruit, develop, and lead the finance and accounting team 
•    Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement 
•    Partner with department leaders to build financial acumen across the organization 
•    Ensure effective use of financial systems, PMS integrations, and reporting tools 
•    Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and internal controls 
•    Support technology upgrades and system implementations 
 

What are we looking for?

•    Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred) 
•    8–12+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in luxury hospitality or resort environments 
•    Experience working with multiple owners and third-party management structures strongly preferred 
•    Strong knowledge of hotel financial systems, budgeting, and forecasting 
•    Deep understanding of GAAP and hospitality accounting practices 
•    Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
