The Expert Business Systems Engineer serves as a strategic thought partner to Finance, Accounting, and Treasury leadership  driving the design, scalability, and modernization of the company’s financial systems ecosystem.

This role requires a strong balance of business acumen and technical depth  someone who can translate strategic financial objectives into cohesive ERP solutions that span Record-to-Report (R2R), Order-to-Cash (OTC), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Treasury, Consolidation, and Compliance domains.

You will lead cross-functional system initiatives, influence architecture decisions, and drive automation and process excellence that enable accurate, compliant, and efficient financial operations across entities and geographies.

About the role:

  • Serve as the domain authority across Finance and Accounting systems  aligning ERP design (primarily NetSuite, with integrations to Salesforce, Workday, and Treasury platforms) to global business processes.
  • Define and maintain the Finance Systems blueprint encompassing GL, AP, AR, Revenue Recognition, Fixed Assets, Tax, Intercompany, Consolidation, and Treasury.
  • Partner with business leaders to define scalable process design for multi-entity, multi-currency, and multi-book accounting environments.
  • Drive continuous improvement and system simplification in support of close acceleration, audit readiness, and real-time reporting.
  • Introduce AI and automation capabilities (e.g., predictive reconciliation, anomaly detection, intelligent matching, and AI-assisted close tasks) to reduce manual effort and accelerate financial cycles.
  • Lead system design for General Ledger, Chart of Accounts, Period Close automation, Intercompany Eliminations, and Consolidation logic.
  • Optimize reporting and reconciliation processes via NetSuite ARM, SuiteAnalytics, and data warehouse integrations.
  • Partner with Treasury to enhance cash visibility, forecasting, and virtual account structures.
  • Design integrations between ERP and bank systems (e.g., JPM, Citi, or SVB) for payment automation, statement ingestion (MT940/BAI2), and daily cash reconciliation.
  • Support investment accounting, debt management, and bank fee analysis automation
  • Define the system flow from Customer Order to Revenue Recognition, ensuring alignment across Salesforce, Billing, and NetSuite.
  • Partner with SalesOps and RevOps to enable subscription billing, usage-based models, and ASC 606 compliance.
  • Partner with Finance leadership on SOX 404, Audit, and Policy standardization.
  • Ensure configuration governance through Strongpoint or equivalent change control platforms.
  • Drive cross-domain system initiatives that span multiple business functions  ensuring traceability from quote-to-cash to close.
  • Represent IT in strategic Finance transformation programs  influencing leadership on prioritization, design decisions, and change adoption.
