As a Research Scientist, you will join a collaborative team and take ownership of designing, executing, and analyzing experiments that advance our Ion Torrent semiconductor sequencing chips and platforms. Efficient and innovative problem solving enable us to overcome challenges and build exciting technologies and products. Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages would be extremely beneficial for this role, enabling the use of data science and analytics to extract great value from our work. We build impactful technologies that help our customers make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
LOCATION: This is a fully onsite position based at our Guildford, CT site. Unfortunately, relocation assistance is NOT provided.

- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screen.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to a variety of projects concerning the chips themselves and their integration with other systems and platforms.
- Work in individually or in matrixed teams in projects spanning early innovation, product development, and on-market support.
- Apply your experimental and analytical skills to navigate complexity in our chips, technology, and workflows.
- Collaborate and communicate across a range of fields including but not limited to semiconductors, electronics, software, engineering, chemistry, and biology.
- Work with an innovative and collaborative team melding subject matter expertise with data science and advanced data analytics.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree + 8 yrs or Advanced degree with 6 years.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related field preferred
- Proven track record in research and development, crafting imaginative and powerful experiments
- Extensive experience in biotechnology, semiconductors, or sensor technologies
- Experience with next-generation sequencing technologies, especially Ion Torrent technology would be greatly beneficial
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
- Programming experience in Python or related languages
- Works well in multi-functional and diverse groups
- Excellent interpersonal and technical communication skills, including presentation of scientific results in a clear, concise, and accurate way
- Strong self-motivation and a self-starter mentality

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $113,500.00–$140,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
