We are looking for a Summer Trainee in Software Automation to support our software and automation teams in testing and validating industrial equipment software. In this role, you will work hands-on with simulators, PLC software, and hardware validation, gaining practical experience in real production-grade systems used in high-tech equipment.
You will support testing of software packages on simulators, help identify and fix PLC-related issues, and participate in hardware validation and debugging activities under guidance from experienced engineers.
Key responsibilities:
- Execute software testing on simulator environments for industrial equipment software
- Support PLC testing and debugging, including identifying root causes of issues
- Assist in fixing PLC logic issues under supervision
- Participate in hardware validation activities together with software and automation engineers
- Analyze test results and help document findings, defects, and test outcomes
- Support integration testing between software, PLC, and hardware
- Follow existing testing processes and contribute to improving test coverage and quality
Required skills and background:
- Ongoing studies in Automation Engineering, Software Engineering or a related technical field
- Basic understanding of PLC concepts (e.g. ladder logic, function blocks, state machines)
- Interest in software testing, automation, and industrial systems
- Basic programming or scripting skills (e.g. structured text, C/C++, or similar) are an advantage
- Ability to work systematically and carefully with technical details
- Good communication skills in English
