JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Purchasing & Financial Responsibility

Own purchasing decisions and budgets across multiple merchandise categories, including managing vendor commitments, credit lines, and expense tracking. Analyze performance metrics (costs, margins, inventory) and adjust strategies to meet financial targets while identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved sourcing.

Vendor Management & Negotiation

Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships while negotiating pricing, terms, and freight. Oversee vendor onboarding, returns, and credits, ensuring compliance and maximizing value through competitive agreements and reliable supply networks.

Inventory Planning & Operations

Plan and manage inventory levels to meet benchmarks, maintain buying schedules, and ensure accurate ordering and reporting. Monitor vendor performance, coordinate with internal teams, and oversee audit readiness and year-end inventory processes.

Market Research & Trend Analysis

Identify new products and industry trends to enhance merchandise offerings. Attend markets and benchmark competitors, leveraging insights to guide buying decisions and improve performance. Provide leadership, training, and analytical support to the buying team.

Coverage & Continuity

Serve as a cross-functional backup buyer, maintaining seamless operations during absences. Handle invoice review, discrepancy resolution, and purchasing oversight while ensuring continuity across all merchandise and operational categories.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
