About the role

Darden is hiring a research assistant for the Summer 2026 to synthesize and integrate methods information for graduate business methods classes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Locate and summarize academic literature on a variety of topics
  • Write summary material of theoretical and philosophical texts with attention to how they inform research methods.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities:

  • Very strong written and verbal communication 
  • Strong synthesis skills (reading and summarizing arguments) 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Able to work independently while balancing multiple projects 
  • Familiarity with key theoretical and philosophical thinkers such as Hobbs, Rawls, Locke, Weber, Foucault, and similar preferred.

Graduate students are encouraged to apply. Position is open to students in business, social sciences, humanities, philosophy or other disciplines with strong writing skills.  

 Pay rate: $25/hour. Position offers 10-25 hours/week during the summer.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
