Team/Role Overview

The Global Communications team is a nimble group in Enterprise Services and Public Affairs (ESPA) that covers a broad scope of responsibilities, ranging from executive communications and public engagements to quarterly earnings and corporate reputation programs as well as communications that support our lines of business. The nature of the work provides a dynamic environment where members of the team serve as company spokespeople to media, drive engagement with colleagues and develop external and internal digital communications for a global workforce.

The team works with many internal partners, including senior leadership, and regularly coordinates closely with other members of the ESPA team across the world.

As a Senior Communications Manager, you will report to the Head of Communications for Switzerland, France and Monaco and be responsible for supporting the development and execution of proactive external and internal communications for Citi in Switzerland, France and Monaco. Your role will involve working with our teams in Switzerland, France and Monaco to enhance and protect the reputation of Citi, its businesses and the brand in the market through communication with Citi's various stakeholders, external and internal. You will also work with various teams across the organisation globally.

What you’ll do

External Communications: executing on Switzerland France and Monaco external communications strategy and plans; managing proactive engagement with key media outlets; developing messaging, briefing documents and speaking notes for senior executives; developing and amplifying brand activities and events in the external market; identifying opportunities and continuously building a strong pipeline of media and social media activity.

Internal Communications and Engagement: Developing and executing internal engagement plans and initiatives; planning and managing internal communications channels and content; planning and managing employee engagement events; developing content for events.

Administrative Tasks: Manage administrative tasks (contracts, invoices, payments, risk and control processes, etc.) to be compliant with all Citi policies.

What we’ll need from you

  • Professional experience in Communications and Public Relations, either in-house or agency, preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding and a proven track record in media relations and stakeholder engagement.
  • A team player with strong leadership qualities, excellent planning and project skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities as needed
  • Excellent communications skills -editing, writing and digital communications skills; experience in content creation for internal and external purposes Social media content development experience and working knowledge of major social media platforms
  • Creativity and an ability to show initiative; strong relationship management skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business management, communications, marketing or related field
  • Language skills: Fluency in English is required. German and French fluency would be a plus.
