The Senior Manager, Marketing Data Governance is responsible for establishing and governing enterprise marketing data standards and ensuring the continued evolution of the ISSCOM global data standard as a strategic enterprise asset.
This role serves as the global business owner for ISSCOM data standards, overseeing critical Marketing concepts including Brand, Category, Sub-Category, and related hierarchies while also stewarding cross-functional standards leveraged across Customer, Product, Finance, and other enterprise domains. Key standards may include concepts such as Tradename, Package, Currency, Geographic Hierarchies, and other shared enterprise reference data.
The role is accountable for driving standardization, governance, quality, adoption, and lifecycle management of enterprise marketing data while partnering closely with the ISSCOM Product Owner to ensure authoring capabilities, workflows, and user experiences effectively support business requirements and governance objectives.
As the global Marketing Data Governance Lead, this position collaborates with Operating Units, Platform Services, Data & Analytics teams, and Functional Data Governance leaders to establish an interoperable data foundation that supports business processes, analytics, reporting, AI, and digital capabilities across The Coca-Cola system.
Function Related Activities / Key Responsibilities
Global ISSCOM Standards Owner
Establish and define the vision, strategy, governance model, and roadmap for the ISSCOM global data standard.
Serve as enterprise owner and steward of ISSCOM standards and associated business definitions, hierarchies, attributes, and relationships.
Govern key Marketing data concepts, including Brand, Category, Sub-Category, and related hierarchies, while maintaining alignment with cross-domain standards and business requirements.
Oversee enterprise standards used across multiple domains, including Customer, Product, Finance, and other shared master and reference data assets that are currently a part of the ISSCOM global data standard.
Lead the ongoing evolution of ISSCOM standards to support changing business strategies, market requirements, digital capabilities, and reporting needs.
Facilitate stakeholder alignment on data standards, governance policies, definitions, and implementation priorities.
Serve as the primary point of escalation for issues related to ISSCOM standards, governance decisions, and data quality concerns.
Promote adoption and consistent usage of ISSCOM standards across enterprise processes, systems, analytics, and AI solutions.
Global Marketing Data Governance Lead
Establish and lead enterprise Marketing Data Governance practices, standards, policies, and operating models.
Partner with Marketing Data Governance leads across Functions, Operating Units, and Platforms to drive consistency and interoperability of marketing data.
Define and maintain critical marketing data elements, business rules, ownership models, and governance controls.
Lead governance forums, councils, and working teams to ensure stakeholder participation, accountability, and decision-making, including the existing Integrated Data Governance + Change Management routine.
Identify opportunities to improve data quality, standardization, accessibility, and business value of marketing information.
Collaborate with Data Governance, Master Data Management, Analytics, and Architecture teams to ensure marketing data is fit for purpose across enterprise platforms and processes.
Monitor governance effectiveness through defined KPIs, adoption metrics, data quality measures, and compliance monitoring.
ISSCOM Capability & Product Partnership
Partner closely with the ISSCOM Product Owner to define business requirements, priorities, and roadmap needs for ISSCOM authoring capabilities.
Represent business stakeholder requirements throughout the design, development, testing, and deployment lifecycle.
Partner closely with the ISSCOM Operations team to ensure authoring workflows support effective creation, maintenance, governance, and stewardship of ISSCOM data standards.
Participate in backlog prioritization, release planning, user acceptance testing, and capability adoption activities.
Provide subject matter expertise to technology teams supporting ISSCOM platforms and related governance capabilities.
Drive continuous improvement of user experiences, governance processes, and operational efficiency.
Enterprise Consulting & Project Leadership
Provide subject matter expertise to enterprise initiatives requiring marketing master data, reference data, and ISSCOM standards.
Consult with business and technology teams to ensure appropriate use of enterprise data standards in solution design and implementation.
Partner with data architecture, engineering, and analytics teams to support data integration, interoperability, and reuse.
Collaborate with metadata, catalog, lineage, and governance teams to ensure complete and accurate documentation of marketing data assets.
Support strategic transformation initiatives requiring new or enhanced marketing data standards, governance processes, and business capabilities.
Research industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance enterprise marketing data management capabilities.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or related field.
Master's Degree preferred.
Related Work Experience
7+ years of experience in data governance, master data management, data management, or related disciplines.
5+ years of experience leading cross-functional governance, standards, or business transformation initiatives.
Experience developing and governing enterprise data standards, taxonomies, hierarchies, or reference data.
Experience working with Marketing data concepts, master data, and business processes.
Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, data quality, and stewardship practices.
Experience collaborating with product management and technology teams to deliver business capabilities.
Consulting experience supporting stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.
Experience operating within global organizations and influencing stakeholders across diverse business groups.
Skills
Deep understanding of enterprise data governance and master data management principles.
Ability to establish, maintain, and socialize enterprise data standards across diverse stakeholder groups.
Strong understanding of marketing data concepts, hierarchies, and business processes.
