A Day in the Life
Job Summary
The Associate Clinical Specialist provides clinical, technical, and customer support for Medtronic products and therapies under close guidance from senior clinical team members and commercial leadership. This role supports customer education, case coverage, product awareness activities, and field execution to help deliver strong clinical outcomes and customer experience. The Associate Clinical Specialist works closely with Clinical Lead, Clinical Specialists, Sales, and cross-functional teams to build foundational clinical expertise and commercial effectiveness.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Supports on-site education, product demonstrations, and/or clinical case coverage under supervision of more experienced clinical team members.
Assists field personnel in delivering the best possible outcomes and service for Medtronic customers.
Partners with sales colleagues to support execution of sales plans within one or more business unit(s).
Participates in conventions, forums, workshops, and meetings to increase product and therapy awareness.
Works closely with Clinical Lead, Clinical Management, Clinical Specialists, and Regional Sales team to provide customer case and sales support.
Assists in identifying customer needs and growth opportunities, and supports execution together with Sales and Clinical Support Team.
Provides basic technical and clinical product support for a specific medical product or solution.
Supports account activities including product in-servicing, follow-up, and coordination of customer requests.
Maintains product knowledge and develops clinical and technical competency through structured training and field experience.
Ensures activities are performed in compliance with company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required
1-2 years of relevant clinical, medical device, healthcare, or sales support experience
Strong learning agility and willingness to develop clinical and technical expertise
Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team environment and support customer-facing activities
Willingness to travel as required
Good English comprehensive skills to attend original training & document self-learning
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in medical devices, hospital environment, or clinical support role
Exposure to case support, product training, or therapy education
Ability to build relationships with healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders
Basic understanding of sales support and customer service principles
ASSOCIATE CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor in an entry-level or early-career professional role. Works on assignments that are routine to moderately complex with guidance from more experienced team members. Builds foundational knowledge within the clinical field and applies standard practices, procedures, and company policies to complete assigned tasks. The majority of time is spent supporting clinical activities, customer education, and field execution while developing technical and professional capability.

External interactions are typically focused on support, education, and relationship building rather than complex problem solving or negotiation.
Leadership and Talent Management: No direct leadership responsibility. May collaborate closely with peers and learn from more senior clinical and commercial team members.
Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires basic to practical knowledge within the job area, typically obtained through education and some relevant experience.
