This is an exciting opportunity to join Agilent's SAP Services and Digital Integrations team as the DI IT Mendix developer and lead. You will be part of the high-performance SSDI DI IT team.
Own delivery and operational excellence for Mendix applications across the portfolio, while enabling a sustainable citizen developer model. This role combines hands-on build and enhancement work with strong application support responsibilities, operating within ITIL-aligned processes. The developer will ensure governance guardrails are applied consistently, coach citizen developers, and collaborate with application owners and business stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
Primary responsibilities:
Build & enhancements: 50% | Production support & stability: 30% | Governance/citizen dev coaching: 20%
Design, develop, test, and deploy Mendix solutions using Mendix Studio Pro and approved platform patterns.
Deliver end-to-end implementation of Mendix applications (requirements through production release), including documentation and handover as and when needed.
Estimate work, participate in sprint planning, and execute deliveries with predictable quality and timeline adherence.
Maintain technical documentation (architecture, integrations, data model, security model, and operational runbooks).
Provide technical overview to the L2/L3 support team for Mendix applications.
Leads technical design decisions for Mendix apps in the SSDI portfolio
Apply ITIL practices across incident, problem, change, release, and knowledge management (RCA, trend analysis, known errors, KB articles).
Partner with operations to ensure monitoring/logging, alert tuning, and production readiness (runbooks, support handover, release validation).
Drive continuous improvement to reduce repeat incidents and improve stability/performance.
Support and mature the citizen developer model by enforcing governance guardrails (security, quality, performance, compliance, and platform standards).
Conduct regular code review sessions and technical walkthroughs; ensure consistency in naming, modularity, error handling, and reuse of approved components.
Promote reusability and reduce technical debt across the Mendix landscape.
Coordinate with application owners and business users to refine requirements, prioritize backlog, and plan releases.
Communicate technical risks, dependencies, and trade-offs clearly and early; ensure decisions are documented.
Work closely with security and architecture teams to align solutions with enterprise standards and audit readiness.
Qualifications
Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, MCA, or equivalent experience.
4–5 years of hands-on Mendix or Low code platform development experience
Mendix Certified Professional
End-to-end delivery experience for at least two Mendix applications including build, test, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.
Working knowledge of ITIL processes for support management (incident/problem/change/release/knowledge).
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills; comfortable working with business users and citizen developers.
Core Technical Competencies:
Mendix Studio Pro: domain modeling, microflows, nanoflows, pages, security (roles/permissions), and performance optimization.
Integration: REST/SOAP, OData, authentication patterns, error handling, and API consumption/publishing.
App lifecycle management: environment strategy, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Version control and release discipline (e.g., Git/Azure DevOps) and CI/CD concepts.
Root-cause analysis using logs/monitoring; ability to produce clear RCA and preventive actions.
Experience upgrading Mendix applications (platform version upgrades, regression testing, remediation of deprecated components)
Documentation: technical specs, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
Desirable / Added Advantage
Experience of working and managing AWS as the host of enterprise applications.
Experience/Familiarity with SAP BTP app development
Integration experience with Snowflake (secure connectivity, data access patterns, and performance considerations).
Exposure to SSO/identity providers, API management, and cloud-native deployments.
Experience operating in regulated/audit-driven environments with strong change control and evidence collection
