Pulmonologist
The University of Louisville School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics is seeking an additional junior faculty member. Pulmonary Medicine encompasses a large clinical service providing inpatient care at Norton Children’s Hospital, outpatient clinical services at our main downtown campus and three satellite offices, an active bronchoscopy service with newly upgraded bronchoscopes and software, two full pulmonary function labs both including impulse oscillometry, consultation services at Frazier Rehabilitation Institute and Home of the Innocents, a pediatric convalescent care center with a dedicated long term mechanical ventilation unit, and an established cystic fibrosis center. Our cystic fibrosis center utilizes a multidisciplinary team including two registered nurses, two respiratory therapists, a dedicated dietician, social worker, and clinical pharmacist. Our center is active in both clinical and research endeavors and works closely with Norton Children’s Research Institute.
Our primary outpatient clinic is located in the 170,000-square-foot Novak Center for Children's Health, a state-of-the-art eight-story building, opened in 2018, which houses all Norton Children’s/University of Louisville pediatric specialty clinical practices. It has seven clinical floors, plus a lab, pharmacy and radiology services, as well as a rooftop garden and conference area. Full pulmonary function testing services are offered on-site.
Norton Children’s Hospital (NCH) is Kentucky’s only full-service, free-standing tertiary pediatric care facility dedicated exclusively to caring for children and being an advocate for their health and well-being.
Our team consists of five board-certified pediatric pulmonologists. We have an active pediatric pulmonology fellowship program and are very involved in education for both residents and medical students.Qualified candidates should be board certified in Pediatrics and board certified/eligible in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine. Interest in Sleep Medicine is particularly preferable. Responsibilities to include teaching, clinical care, and research (with experience or demonstrated potential).
