An exciting opportunity is available for a Vice President – Product Cost to lead elements of a Rolls-Royce key strategic theme, essential to delivering our group mid-term commitments.
This Vice President – Product Cost role is accountable for providing leadership to our multi-billion-pound Civil Aerospace product cost programme as we transform Rolls-Royce into a high performing, competitive, resilient and growing business.
You will develop and lead key cost reduction themes including new technology adoption, cost engineering, supply chain sourcing, functional improvement and manufacturing operations excellence.
What you will be doing:
The Vice President – Product Cost will lead a cross-functional programme to define and exceed industry benchmark performance on cost out. You will help define our product cost operating model and governance structure to maximise return on investment and facilitate flawless execution on our commitments: Other key accountabilities will include:
- Strategic leadership of elements of our Civil Aerospace product cost programme
- Understand engine specific product cost targets, aggregate total requirements and lead cross functional operational and engineering teams to develop a granular visions and strategy, supported by a robust product cost reduction pipeline
- Develop robust internal and external benchmarking capabilities to gain and maintain an industry best-in-class product cost performance in support of our transformation programme
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our product cost operating model and provide robust governance to facilitate on-time delivery of commitments, and proactively manage risks and opportunities across strategic and operational activity across our delivery areas – Manufacturing Operations and Procurement .
Preferred qualifications:
- Qualified to degree level with significant breadth and depth of experience across Operations or Engineering businesses.
Preferred requirements:
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with strong ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation
- Strategic leadership and/or change management experience within a complex engineering industry delivering transformational performance improvement is essential
- Demonstrable experience of leading large, cross functional teams delivering complex programmes which drive improved business profit and/or cash
- Able to effectively manage ambiguous information, navigate complex problems and translate information into simple and efficient messaging
- Experience in sourcing strategy, technology development and introduction, and/or lean manufacturing is preferential.
