Lab and Pharmacy Veterinary Assistant at VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists
Schedule: Full-time opportunity, 4 x 10 hour shifts with one weekend day.

The Opportunity
As a Lab & Pharmacy Veterinary Assistant, you'll play a critical role in supporting our specialty and emergency teams through laboratory diagnostics and pharmacy operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure patients receive timely diagnostics, accurate medications, and exceptional care. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will directly impact patient outcomes every day.
What You'll Do
- Process and prepare laboratory samples for in-house and reference laboratory testing
- Perform laboratory procedures and maintain quality control standards
- Accurately enter and manage laboratory results in patient records
- Prepare, label, and dispense medications under veterinary supervision
- Maintain pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring expiration dates
- Ensure compliance with controlled substance and medication handling protocols
- Support doctors and technicians by coordinating diagnostic testing and medication requests
- Maintain laboratory and pharmacy equipment according to hospital protocols
- Assist with patient treatments and hospital operations as needed
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Uphold cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the laboratory and pharmacy areas
Compensation
$21.00 – $25.00/hour
Pay range is negotiable based on experience, education, skills, and credentials.
