GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Our Global Products & Solutions (GPS) Application Support team is responsible for strategically developing, strengthening, and aligning application support services on a global scale. Our goal is to deliver a tailored experience for stakeholders and end-users across key business functions including Execution, Sales, and Trading.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Application Support specialist with proven expertise in supporting the Murex platform from both a technical and functional perspective. Reporting to the Head of GPS Application Support Asia based in Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimising the bank’s Murex platform and its underlying infrastructure. You will also have the opportunity to support other critical applications, including third-party vendor solutions and internally developed applications. This role requires delivering best-in-class user support during Asian business hours, while actively contributing to global incident resolution and ensuring overall system stability.

KEY FEATURES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Application Support & Platform Stability

  • Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for internal and external supported software, with a focus on the Murex platform.

  • Ensure Murex and other application’s environments are setup and config to run optimally.

  • Setup new tools, metrics to monitor and optimize applications performance to meet evolving business needs, e.g Grafana.

  • Schedule and troubleshoot End-of-Day (EOD) processes to ensure timely and accurate completion.

  • Provide techno-functional support to all users of the Murex platform.

  • Participate in on-call duty for production support, providing prompt and effective resolution to issues and minimizing impact on business operations

  • Support change management and release rollout planning

  • Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

YOUR PROFILE

Professional and Technical

  • 5-10+ years of experience in software engineering, system administration, or technical support, with a focus on financial trading applications and platforms.

  • Environment management experience is a must including strong expertise of Linux operating systems and experience in bash scripting.

  • Experience with java application support and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl).

  • Experience with messaging systems (e.g. MQ, Kafka).

  • Experience with database/SQL-related queries (Oracle, Sybase).

  • Have an interest and passion about financial markets with the relevant working experience on Murex from a functional support perspective.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g. Bitbucket, GitHub, etc.).

  • Knowledge of Murex MXML Exchange workflows design and implementation.

  • Knowledge of Murex reporting Datamart or other Murex components.

  • Java development experience is advantageous.

Personal and Social

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Financial engineering or programming qualification is desirable

  • Excellent command of verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to work autonomously in a global team setup to take on initiative with a positive attitude

  • Solution orientated and able to work in an agile setup

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines

  • Able to quickly troubleshoot problems and provide effective solutions

  • Highly motivated blended with a team player spirit
