Position Summary
The Deposit Account Services and Governance Specialist ensures tax reporting and interest payments for deposits are completed accurately and within bank guidelines. This position ensures Customer Information Files (CIF) and deposit accounts are coded appropriately on the core system and that deposit accounts adhere to compliance and audit guidelines.Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain Customer Information Files (CIF) and deposit accounts via documentation submitted by the front line utilizing basic data entry functions.
- Process the following reports and tasks on a daily basis: Dormancy, Deceased, Product Changes, Pending Closed, and Interest Dropped
- Assist the front line through the phone and email queues
- Balance Safe Deposit Box Settlement and CD/IRA Settlement
- Manage CD/IRA interest & distribution checks
- Update DDA, CD, and special rates as directed by Finance
- Handle year end reporting and complete tax corrections as applicable for interest bearing accounts including Health Savings Accounts and IRAs.
Education & Experience
Knowledge of:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Bank policies, procedures, and Federal Regulations (preferred)
- Jack Henry Xperience system (preferred, not required)
Ability to:
- Attention to detail to prevent loss to the bank
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and bank information
- Work independently
- Maintain visual attention and mental concentration for extended periods of time
- Perform duties and make decisions under frequent time pressures
Education and Training:
- Requires High School diploma
- Preferred one or more years of related bank or accounting experience
- Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office
Compensation and Benefits
Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
(Base Pay Range: $18.00 - 23.00/hour)
