CACI’s Wireless Solutions site in Florham Park, NJ is looking to hire a Buyer/Planner. This position is responsible for ensuring the right material is available at the right time, in the right quantity, to support production and customer delivery commitments while balancing cost, inventory, and supplier performance. Candidate will work directly with multiple departments across the business including Product Design Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Inventory Management, Business Finance, and Shipping/Receiving.
Responsibilities:
Ensure uninterrupted material availability to support production schedules and customer deliveries.
Analyze demand, MRP messages, inventory levels, and supply requirements.
Place and manage purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, and expedite critical deliveries.
Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Suppliers to resolve material shortages and schedule risks.
Maintain accurate planning parameters, lead times, and order status within Infor LN.
Support government contract requirements, including DPAS-rated orders and ITAR compliance.
Balance inventory investment while meeting production and customer commitments.
Communicate supply chain risks, recovery plans, and material status to stakeholders and leadership.
Drive on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships
Cross reference alternate manufacturer part numbers
Support inventory cost detail
Create and track Purchase Orders (POs) thru delivery
Identify and support qualifying new suppliers
Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in high-tech manufacturing environment purchasing and planning electronic components and assemblies
Bachelor's degree in relatable field or business/technology, or Associate's degree with additional relatable years of experience
U. S. Citizenship is required
Must be willing and able to obtain a US Government security clearance and pass a pre-employment drug screen

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
Ability to cross reference manufacturing and vendor part numbers using engineering technical descriptions

Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (INFOR)
Proficiency in MS Windows and Office software: Word and Excel

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
