Job Summary:
The Advanced Psychoeducation Specialist provides direct patient care under the guidance of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH). Provide clinical and administrative supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Facilitates Psychoeducation groups and provides individual activities tailored to specific needs of patients.
- May participate in family meetings and treatment team meetings.
- Offers community resource knowledge and coordination of activities.
- Completes assessments, care planning and discharge planning in collaboration with the Social Worker team.
- Provide one-on-one (1:1) patient safety companion service and patient checks as needed.
- Participates in continued education and in-service training.
Education:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or Expressive Therapy (Music, Dance/Movement), Counseling, or Human Services (required)
Licensing & Certifications:
- Must be licensed, certified, or registered as appropriate by state and national licensing boards in one of the following (required)
- Care Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (CTRS)
- Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC)
- Therapy Credentialed Supervisor (ATCS)
- Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC)
- Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT)
- Occupational Therapist Licensed (OTR/L)
Experience:
- 1 year of experience in healthcare, social services or human services setting (required)
Skills & Abilities:
- De-escalation and Crisis Intervention
- Debriefing and documentation
- Motivational interviewing
- Patient centered care and care planning
- Performing medical and safety screenings
- Working within an interdisciplinary team
- Individual, family, and group psychotherapy
- Mentoring and training of employees
Participation in enterprise-wide workgroups
