The Opportunity:
The ILS Supply Specialist reports directly to the Maintenance Baseline Uplift Project Lead to restore and validate the integrity of supply support and allowance data underpinning the Product Baseline, ensuring alignment between configuration, maintenance and logistics systems to enable a Defence‑approved, sustainable PBS baseline transition to Recurring Services.
Within the scope of the project, the Baseline Uplift Project ILS Supply Specialist applies Defence supply support, codification and cataloguing, and allowance management expertise to identify and remediate misalignment across APLs, allowances, ERP and related logistics systems.
The role focuses on baseline correction and assurance activities necessary to reduce asset management risk, support sustainment effectiveness and prevent the re‑emergence of legacy data inconsistency.
This is a permanent full-time position and is based in Garden Island, Sydney.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse and remediate supply support data misalignment, including APLs, allowances and related logistics attributes, ensuring consistency between ERP, APLCRATES, NAVALLOW and other Defence logistics systems.
- Support product baseline uplift activities by validating that supply support data accurately reflects approved system configuration, maintenance concepts and authorised changes, in coordination with SQEPs, LSAR Analysts and Configuration Officers.
- Manage and deliver codification and cataloguing activities, including review of part number data, supplier information and NSN status, to ensure compliant and auditable logistics data suitable for baseline incorporation.
- Identify, assess and report supply‑related risks, including obsolescence, shortages, allowance inaccuracies and procurement constraints that may impact baseline integrity or deliverability, supporting informed project and stakeholder decision‑making.
- Support baseline release by ensuring supply support elements are complete, internally consistent and suitably documented for ongoing management, auditability and future sustainment updates.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Essential:
- Cert IV in Materiel Logistics or equivalent or relevant experience.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Logistic Support Analysis within the Defence maritime domain.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Integrated Logistics Support within the Defence maritime domain.
- Knowledge and experience in Defence logistics management systems, including but not limited to – Defence ERP/MILIS, LNIDs, and APLCRATES.
- Navy Technical Risk Management experience.
- Verbal and Written Communication in a team environment.
- Must be eligible for ITAR clearance of relevant ship systems.
Desirable:
- Experience in ERP and AMPS.
- Understanding of Defence procurement
- NRT Code TLIX0034X - Undertake supply support in integrated logistics.
- Change management experience.
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
