Position Summary:
The Lead Change Management Consultant manages all aspects of change on a single complex project, transformational effort or across multiple initiatives within a program. This position is accountable to business leaders for delivering business outcomes that are dependent on people adopting solutions successfully.
Defines and delivers robust change management strategies, approaches and plans for multiple engagements that can cross functional boundaries
Applies Prosci methodology, tools and approaches to internal client team members, providing coaching on usage as needed; uses instruments and tools to describe and plan change impacts on multiple engagements and customizes approach and methodology based on previous change impacts and prior experience
Determines contributing factors to strong sponsorship, coaches and supports sponsors on expected behaviors and becomes primary contact for sponsors
Executes and manages change management scope for large scale programs and projects, including sponsorship, coaching, communications, training and resistance management plans
Articulates, envisions and creates desired patterns in human dynamics (behaviors, mindsets and culture)
Integrates change management with project management and influences successful mitigation strategies
Develops organizational best practices
Integrates success measures, metrics and monitoring across multiple initiatives in a program
Responsibilities:
Develops change management programs to solve complex business group or company issues. Finds innovative solutions.
Coaches and advises sponsors
Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and needs.
Provides advice and technical expertise to other organizations/groups and/or executive management in the area of change management.
Required/Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
In addition to required degree, six (6) or more years related work experience
In lieu of Bachelor’s degree(s) AND six (6) or more years related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND ten (10) or more years related work experience
Desired Qualifications:
Experience leading enterprise‑level change management across complex programs or portfolios, aligning priorities across multiple initiatives
Deep expertise in defining and overseeing end‑to‑end change strategies and core deliverables at scale (impact assessments, stakeholder strategies, communications, and engagement planning) across diverse business and technology efforts
Experience shaping and delivering change management for enterprise technology platforms (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Mobile/Web apps) with a focus on integrated, cross‑functional adoption strategies
Ability to translate complex change into clear, cohesive narratives and executive‑level communications, including development of presentations and materials using tools such as PowerPoint, SharePoint and Copilot
Experience establishing or operating within enterprise intake, governance, and operating models, including standardizing tools, frameworks, and approaches to scale change management across a portfolio
Proven ability to anticipate, assess, and proactively manage stakeholder resistance, leveraging data, feedback, and targeted engagement strategies to mitigate risk and drive sustained adoption
Understanding of change management within a customer‑focused utility environment, including regulatory, jurisdictional and front‑line impacts
Familiarity with emerging AI technologies supporting call center operations (e.g., AI copilots, virtual assistants, or automation tools) and ability to drive adoption and behavior change for front‑line users
Experience working with agile teams/Jira, approaches and tools (moved from preferred)
Strong ability to create executive‑level presentations and visually compelling materials to communicate change

Demonstrated ability to communicate a vision and obtain buy-in
Ability to adapt and changes as business needs change
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience providing oversight to contingent workers
Competency in one or more complementary disciplines such as project management, Agile, innovation, design thinking, customer experience, training, communication, digital transformation
Experience in supplier contract management
Comfort with complexity, ambiguity and change
Working Conditions
Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
