We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer experienced in design, construction and operations of Critical Facilities to join our Data Center Engineering team of, thinkers and doers, committed to delivering excellence for our next generation of data centers. This is a fast-moving, dynamic environment where flexibility, teamwork and resourcefulness are key attributes needed for success.

Description

As a key part of the Data Center Operations team, you will lead design and construction administration on large scale projects as Apple’s Owners Representative for the Mechanical Engineer team as a domain expert.

Minimum Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field or equivalent job-related experience 5+ years experience with large mechanical cooling systems Ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications

8+ years of experience in Mission Critical facilities design, construction and/or operations 2+ years of operational experience as a mechanical engineer data center domain expert Model system performance, efficiency and reliability to prescribe improvement opportunities Experience with complex system upgrade projects or refreshes to operating facility and site Ability to Identify and resolve project issues, problems and deficiencies early and directly Pragmatic and intuitive system design skills to reduce operational complexity and risks Complex Level 5 integrated systems test (IST) and commissioning experience Building Automation Systems (BAS) sequence of operations (SOO) development and tuning Deep dive on system and component failure, root-cause analysis (RCA’s) and life expectancy
