Position Summary:
The Associate Director, Strategic Insights brings together competitive intelligence, advanced analytics, and forward‑looking perspectives to inform high‑impact leadership decisions by identifying key risks, opportunities, and trade‑offs. This role evaluates the impact of business decisions and external market forces by synthesizing competitor activity, industry trends, and internal performance data.
By translating complex analyses into clear, executive‑level insights, the Associate Director enables senior leadership to make informed, data‑driven decisions that drive business outcomes and long‑term strategy. In addition, this role leads the development and execution of strategic insights and competitive intelligence capabilities that directly influence enterprise performance and strategic direction.
Responsibilities:
Lead competitive intelligence efforts by continuously monitoring competitor actions, market dynamics, and industry trends to deliver timely, actionable insights that inform strategic decision‑making.
Own the evaluation of enterprise business decisions by leading scenario analysis, business case development, and financial impact modeling to guide investment and strategic direction by conducting scenario analysis, business case evaluations, and sensitivity testing to quantify implications for financial performance, growth, and operational outcomes.
Develop forward‑looking forecasts and scenario models to anticipate external trends and competitive shifts, (e.g., competitive behavior, macroeconomic trends, regulatory changes) translating insights into actionable implications that inform business strategy and decision-making.
Integrate complex data into clear executive‑level insights that translate competitive signals and analytical findings into implications, risks, and opportunities for leadership decision‑making.
Leads cross-functional alignment across Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Analytics to ensure insights are embedded in enterprise planning and investment decisions.
Proactively identify risks and opportunities by tracking early warning indicators, competitor moves, and external developments that may materially affect business performance or strategic positioning.
Support the creation of analytical frameworks, dashboards, and reporting tools that enable consistent evaluation of competitive pressures, business decisions, and external market forces.
Acts as a strategic advisor and thought partner to senior leadership, influencing decision-making without direct authority. Leads initiatives and working teams to drive alignment on key strategic priorities.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business/Business Management or related subject.
Master's degree in Business Management or related subject preferred; or equivalent training and experience
Experience
8-10 years of progressive experience in strategic planning, business analytics, or pricing strategy within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry.
Experience with plasma operations management preferred.
Progressively more responsible positions in a complex organization and experience working in a regulated environment preferred.
Excellent critical reasoning, decision-making and problem-solving skills to analyze situations, determine risks, and find solutions to prevent future issues.
Strong leadership, training, written and verbal communication and interpersonal and presentation skills to drive results.
Proven skills in economics and financial management.
Experience planning, organizing, securing and managing project resources preferred.
Proficient with system skills including Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, etc.
Advanced data modeling, analytic, metric, and reporting skills preferred data interpretation.
Strategic thinking and strong stakeholder management.
Working Conditions
Operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
Ability to assess complex information and make decisions impacting the immediate team and broader business outcomes
Manage multiple priorities while exercising sound judgment and attention to detail
Up to 25% travel required, including overnight travel with limited advance notice
