About the role
The Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support critical C5ISR and JWICS initiatives at Hickam Air Force Base. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of national security technology, shaping advanced systems that directly support mission success across the Pacific theater.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, technically adept professional with deep experience in C4I/C5ISR systems, strong analytical capabilities, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions in a dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Systems Engineer will play a central role in the design, integration, and sustainment of mission‑critical systems. Responsibilities include:
Analyze, design, and develop advanced C4I/C5ISR system capabilities and architectures.
Create integration and implementation plans, schedules, and technical roadmaps.
Evaluate and recommend COTS/GOTS hardware and software solutions to enhance system performance.
Monitor project progress, prepare milestone reports, and brief program managers and government stakeholders.
Provide technical and administrative support for system installation, configuration, testing, administration, and maintenance.
Deliver operational and sustainment support for C4I systems, including system administration, troubleshooting, and network repair.
Support system upgrades and architecture enhancements as directed by government leadership.
Coordinate with PACAF PA‑ESC, theater-wide system engineers, and government managers to align technical solutions and ongoing activities across multiple sites.
Technical Expertise
Candidates should demonstrate strong proficiency in:
Network protocols and enterprise networking concepts
Windows, Linux, and UNIX operating systems
Web, Intelink, and intranet technologies
DoD Information Security policies (COMPUSEC, INFOSEC), multi-level security, and emerging information warfare concepts
Air Force intelligence systems and joint programs such as GALE and GCCS
Microsoft enterprise technologies including Windows Server (2003/2007/2012), VMware, Exchange, Outlook, and SharePoint
Professional Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Strong customer service orientation
Proven project management skills
Ability to proactively analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions
Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
4–8 years of experience in C4I-related engineering or operations
Active TS/SCI clearance required on day one
Experience configuring network devices
Security+ certification
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
Experience with VMware
Experience with VDI technologies

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
